WYLFA FESTIVAL 2009

For those of you who have never been to this festival, you really are missing a great weekend.  Set in the grounds of the Wylfa Sports and Social Club near Camaes Bay, Anglesey, within a stones throw of some beautiful sea views and lovely walks through the pine woods.

The festival was originaly supposed to be a one off in memory of the late Martin Wynnard, but since it's start 4 years ago it has gone from strength to strength and increased greatly in popularity. Run by Shirley Wynnard the widow of Martin and Paul and Barbara Branson (Rough Diamond) in conjunction with Anglesey Lions Club, Mike Taylor, this really is a brilliant weekend.

With approximately l00 pre-booked units, tickets are like 'gold dust', so book early ready for next year.

Some great acts graced the stage over the 3 days,  namely, Fools Gold, Pete Walker, Carolann B, Travis Logan, Mike Lane Duo, Rough Diamond and Michigan Duo - a great variety of music and songs, to please both Westerners and Line Dancers alike.

Unfortunately the weather could have been kinder, with plenty of rain and high winds, but this didn't deter the fabulous spirit of this festival. It was a pleasure to meet up again with many old friends and also make plenty of new ones who we'll hopefully be seeing at the many more festivals we'll be attending this year.
