Wednesday 21st November.
Something we've been promising our linedance members for a while is a complete 'oldies' night. When we suggested it, it was met with great enthusiasm, so we set about organizing one. As this was originally solely for our own class, it was up to them to furnish me with the type of 'old' dances they wanted to do.
Needless to say, the idea snowballed as when 'outsiders' heard about it, they asked if they could attend - no problem, the Bootscooters are always pleased to accomodate everyone.
So not only did it expand from our own class members, but then it was decided to include a hot pot supper with fruit pie, cream and dinner mints to follow - a cd and cash raffle and an artist all for our normal weekly fee of £2.50.
Our Chef for the night was Bill, who looked the part in his full Chefs outfit (photos to follow) and catered for approx 75 people. Our artist was the very tallented Peter Carlile, who did us proud with some really brilliant classic tracks. It was certainly a pleasure to have Peter back on the Bootscooter stage singing Country for us. Peter is probably better known for his excellent cabaret singing and has graced the Bronze Club's stage many times.
In our raffle we gave away 10 cash prizes and 6 cd's to l6 lucky winners. It was a great night the club was buzzing as always and an excellent night was had by all.
Many thanks as always to Chris (on the door/raffle) Sarah & Holly for helping to serve, clear and wash up and our unsung hero's who helped put the room straight and who always help on our class nights in putting the room 'back together' -they are Elaine G, Elaine M, Heather & Chris.
Our next Social is Tuesday l8th December, our Xmas Party, when we have Mr. Linedance himself, Paul Bailey. No cooking for us as it's a Jacobs Table and we will also have our Xmas Raffle.
See you all then.
