Februaray Social 2017
For our first social of 2017 we had on stage Darren Colt Murphy & Amy Morgan. Amy had been to the Bronze before but Colt Murphy was a virgin to our stage. Amy had the first set and included songs such as First Fool in Line, Heavenly Cha, Places, I just wanna Dance with You, just to name a few. It was a fabulous set and kept the dancers on the floor the whole time. Amy has got such a fabulous voice and everything appears to be quite effortless for her vocally. Absolutely superb. Darren, or Colt as is his stage name went on stage next with yet another great selection of songs, such as Lay Low, Tempted, Some Girls Will, This is me, another excellent performance. Between both of them it was an endless array of great line dance tunes.
Our raffle came next. Well we started off with 43 prizes and I know a few were added as people came through the door for which we are truly gratefull. We ourselves provided over 30 of the prizes and the others were very kindly donated. Thank you to all those who generously gave gifts for the raffle. I scooted through the raffle, which took approximately 25 minutes, think thats a record and well done to all those who won prizes, I think they got dished out quite well, even I won a prize and was under strict instructions from our 6 year old granddaughter, Lilly that if Nan won I must pick the ‘big’ easter egg – so guess who got that.
Straight after the raffle Amy was back on stage for another fabulous set, followed quickly by Colt for his 2nd set. What a brilliant nights entertainment to a full house. It was lovely to see the room buzzing and everyone thoroughly enjoying themselves. It was a shame a few people were unable to attend due to illness, they certainly missed a fab show, but hopefully they won’t miss the next one in May when we have Jake Carter and Emma Moore, 2 newbies to the Bootscooter stage, already 66 tickets gone, so don’t miss out on getting yours.
Thanks as always to Bill my car park attendant, he does a fab job making sure all your cars are parked saftely, even in the pouring rain. Thanks as always to my band of helpers, you’re great. Chris, always on the door and does a stirling job, nothing too much trouble, he just gets on with it. Our room ‘tidy uppers’ at the end of the night, Elaine & Dave Mills and Elaine Goddard – thank you all so much, you’re all truly appreciated by Bill and myself.
